Salary: $125,000- $150,000

401(k): 100% match up to 10% of salary*

JOB SUMMARY: 


The Controller is the key member of the Company's accounting department. The position is responsible for the oversight, preparation, analysis, and distribution of the company's consolidated financial statements, and manages the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes including variance analysis to ensure accurate, timely, and relevant financial reporting. This position will provide direct supervision of the accounts receivable, accounts payable, pricing, payroll and reconciliation teams. It will report directly to the Vice President.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee, manage, and monitor the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives. Train the accounting team.
  • Develop tools/systems to provide critical financial and operational metrics and information to the Vice President and core leadership team.
  • Ensure all transactional activities are conducted smoothly not limited to: payroll, payables, receivables, chart of accounts, debt payments, cash disbursements, accruals, reconciliations, etc.
  • Provide monthly and quarterly analysis with recommendations to improve the business performance.
  • Assist in establishing yearly objectives & budgets and support long term strategic planning.
  • Oversee cash, investment, asset management, financial strategies, and banking relationships.
  • Ensure the Integrity and validity of monthly and year-end financial statements.
  • Manage Sub-ledgers; including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Cash Journal.
  • Liaison with outside CPA regarding accounting methods and tax planning.
  • Support 401K audit (working with HR and 401K auditor).
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants.
  • Issue timely and complete financial statements within 5 days of the applicable period end.
  • Reconcile the Balance sheet and all Bank account monthly.
  • Provide Capital Project Oversight and Business Case analysis as needed.
  • Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  FOUNDATIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND/OR ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize and manage tasks to meet deadlines and expectations with minimal supervision.
  • Confident, professional demeanor and ability to maintain composure in a busy environment.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Accounting skills to include treasury, payroll, AR and AP.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use other software tools as required


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business with at least five (5) years of experience in accounting.
  • Prior experience in the oversight and management of an accounting team.
  • Beverage or other wholesaler industry experience preferred.
