Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional care and support to our clients in the comfort of their own homes. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a vital role in helping individuals with various needs, including those with geriatric conditions, to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Hands on bathing and assistance with tub or shower. Assistance with toileting. Assistance with brushing teeth, brushing hair, applying lotion, trimming nails, and all other morning or evening routine tasks.
- Cooking, meal preparation and feeding. Spoon feeding and prepping food to exact specifications. Including going to the store and picking up items.
- Light Housekeeping
- Cleaning after meals and maintaining home cleanliness.
- Assistance with walking, getting out of bed, using hoyer lift, and transferring from to or from chair. Assistance with catheter care, but not insertion. Assistance with dressing.
- Hands on Assistance
- Hands-on assistance with activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.
- Assistance managing
- Assistance managing the individual's home and handling personal affairs.
- Assistance with self-administration of medications.
- Homemaker Services
- Homemaker services such as cleaning, mail, and laundry.
- Running errands with client
- Errands completed outside of the presence of the individual such as picking up prescriptions and groceries.
- Other Care
Experience:
- CPR certification
- Passed initial training for initial caregiver, HHA, or DSP
- Previous experience working in clients homes and diverse environments
- Familiarity with the needs and challenges of patients with geriatric conditions
- Ability to lift and transfer patients safely
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
- Experience with hoyer lift
- Experience transporting clients from home to doctor's appointment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with Dementia and Alzheimer's Disease(Not required)
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (for clients requiring transportation)(Not required)
- Experience with Parkinson's Disease(Not required)
Skills:
- Experience working in clients homes and comfortable in new environments
- Knowledge of emergency medicine and ability to respond to medical emergencies
- Calm and Compassionate
- Detail oriented, neat, and organized
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
