What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician 2nd shift position at Champion Packaging & Distribution Inc.?

The Laboratory Technician will perform the following tasks:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- The hourly monitoring of one bottle per hour per line of finished product produced at CPDI for the following where applicable:
- Product meets testing specifications (strength, pH, color, etc.)
- Product is filled to appropriate fill height
- General appearance of finished product meets specification
- Proper recordkeeping of all analytical data generated in the quality control laboratory
- All analytical laboratory methods used to monitor the quality of products produced at Champion Packaging:
- Balance operation
- Volumetric glassware usage
- Titrations
- Specific gravity
- Powell filtration/Iron detection
- pH
- The preparation of all reagents used for analytical testing and refilling of secondary containers at end of day
- sodium thiosulfate
- potassium iodide
- hydrochloric acid solution
- The intake of all raw sodium hypochlorite tankers including:
- Sampling
- Testing
- Tank selection
- Obtaining proper retention samples of:
- Bulk raw materials
- Batch concentrates
- Finished products
- Issuing fill heights to production line for all sodium hypochlorite based products
- Reporting of any quality/production related issues identified during the sampling and testing of products produced at CPDI
Requirements
· Associate's degree in applied science or related field required
· Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
- Must be eligible to work in the US
- Required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
