Job Overview
Support in vivo oncology studies through equipment management; facility operations, maintenance, and security; laboratory health and safety; and supply receipt and distribution. Duties and responsibilities:

Coordinate and oversee the maintenance of facility infrastructure and equipment; conduct maintenance, calibration, and testing; and oversee and schedule repairs as needed

Coordinate and oversee end-users and waste haulers to manage waste streams

Coordinate and oversee end-users and monitoring companies to maintain equipment set points

Coordinate and oversee equipment repair and certification/calibration records and schedules
-
Responsible for facility security, including badge access control

Responsible for the laboratory health and safety program, including radiation safety program

Responsible for supply receipt and distribution systems and processes

Negotiate with vendors to manage and contain expenses
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong technical and mechanical aptitude

Ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment while maintaining a strong sense of accountability, integrity and confidentiality

Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound and accurate judgment in making timely decisions

Superior planning, organizational, computer, written, and verbal communication skills

Ability to observe safety and security procedures and relevant regulations and laws
Education and Experience
-
BS degree and 1 year of related experience or 3 years related experience
-
Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with at least 2 years leadership experience

Experience in contract research animal facility or industry setting required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

Must be able to sit and use hands to finger, handle and feel.

Must be able to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer in a typical office environment in a multi-level facility
-
Some activities require repetitive motion and reaching, pulling or pushing.

In carrying out the duties of the job there will be frequent exposure to fumes and chemical hazards.

Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
