What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Chemical Engineer position at ChampionX?
ChampionX is seeking a Senior Chemical Engineer to develop and advance technical platforms in our Sugar Land, Texas facility. In this role you will be responsible for executing and leading research, development and problem solving projects to enable new product and process development. You will lead projects in a cross-functional team involving business, marketing, field and corporate account sales, finance, supply chain, and procurement through Phase Gate and launch new products. We are seeking candidates who have strong collaboration and teamwork skills, are self-motivated, have good communication skills, are creative problem solvers, and possess strong observation and perception skills.

What You Will Do:
Apply engineering knowledge to enhance and improve Asset Integrity testing operations
Provide solutions to problems that may arise with existing test equipment
Generate innovative ideas for new testing methods as well propose enhancements to prolong the life of existing assets
Support large scale laboratory projects such as new equipment design and installation
Provide training to other team members on basic engineering principles
Collect, analyze and present data in a clear and concise manner
Implement thorough documentation and recording process
Maintain safety standards and implement new ones as required
Create, edit and review standard operating procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree or Advanced degree in a chemical engineering or related discipline.
- Degree and 2 to 4 years or advanced degree and 1 to 3 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Superior communication, leadership presence, and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with functional teams, shared RD&E groups, and external resources.
- Project leadership and/or project management experience.
- Proven track record of innovation through successful development initiatives.
- Basic understanding of Design of Experiments
