Interventional Vascular Nurse Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with diagnostic and interventional vascular procedures
• Monitor patient preop, interop, and post vascular interventional procedures
• Ability to respond to emergencies, contrast reactions, and cardiac/respiratory emergencies.
• Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, computer skill
• Maintaining and securing the departments medication supply, monitoring the patients receiving conscious sedation, and keeping appropriate medical records relating to patient care
• Evaluating patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge and/or continuing care
• Providing education as indicated after assessing the learning needs of the patient and family

Licensing or Certifications for Interventional Vascular Nurse

• ACLS, BLS
• Conscious Sedation Certification

Education for Interventional Vascular Nurse

• Bachelor’s and/or Associate degree in nursing

Skills for Interventional Vascular Nurse

• Emergency Response
• Reactions to Contrast
• Cardiac/ Respiratory Arrest
• Procedure and disease processes
• Procedures performed
• Technical accomplishment and potential risks/complications

Desired Experience for Interventional Vascular Nurse

• Assist physician with interventional vascular procedures, including physical exam with extremity pulses, allergies, current medication, and medical history which would have an adverse effect on the patient or exam and sedation analgesia
• Provide pre, interim and post op monitoring and care for all vascular procedures
• Evaluate patient outcomes, effectiveness of plan of care and readiness for discharge and/or continuing care
• Administering and monitoring moderate IV conscious sedation
• Interventional Radiology or Cath Lab experience is highly preferred
• Experience scrubbing, monitoring, and performing in a cardiovascular catheterization and or interventional radiology/ vascular lab
• Ability to wear lead aprons during cases and able to stand for prolonged periods of time and assist with moving patients, including wheelchairs and beds

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $750.00 - $1,000.00 per week
