We are a growing company that seeks a talented Custom Apparel Manager.
Position:
This role reports to the VP of Manufacturing and is responsible for the complete sublimation & custom processes, maintaining of systems, production planning, market research & strategies, along with, cross matrix collaboration throughout the company teams to drive sustainable growth & profitability. Partners with Product Managers on specific products, materials, specifications, forecasting and services. Sustains all foreign and domestic manufacturing & vendor relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and assist factories in developing and maintaining capacity to meet demand
- Assist in calculating and maintaining demand forecasting to insure on time delivery for all apparel production
- Manage raw material inventory, fabric, ink, paper and replenishes as needed based upon prescribed inventory levels
- Calculate manufacturing costs for custom and stock apparel and decorated garments
- Coordinate all engineering projects in factories to improve the efficiency, cost and on-time delivery
- Understand existing and new manufacturing technology and/or equipment
- Assist in the management of equipment maintenance and life cycle planning from the point of purchase
- Manage production process for all custom apparel and identify opportunities for software improvements and manage upgrades
- Assist the Product team with the calculation of manufacturing costs of apparel, embroidery and screen printing
- Partner with Product Managers to determine new product SKU, SKU maintenance and AX prices and costs
- Coordinate all costing with V.P. of Manufacturing and V.P. of Finance
- Monitors and updates the custom apparel management system daily
- Responds to inquiries concerning delivery or quality issues and reports to the responsible teams
- Provides regular reporting on manufacturing performance, including, production, quality and forecast
- Maintains custom production parameters and makes changes as needed
- Addresses CPA/AX software issues to identify the reasons for errors and work with IT at the plant level
- Coordinate engineering projects at the plant level to improve efficiency and quality
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of experience in product management / production management
- BA/BS preferred – experience can be substituted
- Skilled in Excel / word / Google docs / AX experience a definite plus
- Self-starter and able to work with minimal guidance
- Extremely detail oriented w/ excellent organization and follow-though skills
- Ability to adjust priorities
- Strong communication skills including the ability to work in a team environment; solid written and verbal communicator. Ability to network and attain trust of cross matrix team
- Practical and quantitative analytical skills (common sense)
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workload, adapt to change and maintain composure under pressure and maintains a positive and professional attitude towards team, vendors, and clients.
- Occasional travel required
