Essential Functions: What you’ll do:
- Collects and analyzes the information necessary for the estimation process
- Prepares bids according to plans and specifications
- Calculates prices for surveys, permits, engineer approvals, concrete bases, transport, removals, and installation
- Keep price lists up to date
- Prepare estimates of costs of materials, labor and equipment for projects based on design proposals, schematic drawings, and specifications
- Participate in tendering procedures, examine, and prepare notes, and establish product cost
- Make recommendations with respect to alternative materials and manufacturing specifications
- Obtain and negotiate prices from non-raw material suppliers
- Generate installation allowances based on site operations and reginal rates
- Coordinate, consult, and communicate with engineers, architects and subcontractors, account executives, and internal designers
- Review engineering designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering recommendations, specification sheets, and other data
- Develop product price lists for program and national accounts
- Make recommendations with respect to the feasibility of design data versus manufacturing techniques
- Manage and change estimating techniques consistent with market and manufacturing evolution
- Participate in virtual or face-to-face meetings to discuss pricing issues and strategies with sales and project managers
- Work with purchasing and outside vendors in locating the best source of non-standard sign materials that best meet customer specs
- The ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail oriented so as all materials or labor requirements are included
Qualifications: What you’ll need to be successful
- Estimating: 2 -3 years in the field of signage or construction and/or in an equivalent field
- Education: High School/College degree in a field related and/or associate degree
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook, Zoom, Teams
- Customer Service Orientation: Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service, preferably with experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Leadership: Initiative-taking, takes initiative and leads by example
- Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication, problem-solving, and team collaboration skills. Ability to effectively communicate via telephone and email with internal and external stakeholders
- Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail, precise and accurate
