What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian Materials Handler position at Chandler Signs?
Duties and responsibilities
- Take out Trash and Recycling, including hoppers/pallets moved by forklift
- Keep common areas, walkways and forklift paths in the shop swept and clear of debris
- Maintain outer premises, driveway and parking areas
- Operate sit-down sweeper and forklift both inside and outside of the facility
- Undertake custodial and janitorial tasks (lifting heavy items, moving office equipment etc.)
- Report damages and help oversee repairs
- Assist in additional job task required by manager
- Maintain and organize stock of facilities janitorial supplies
Skills / Abilities
- Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role
- Minimum 1 year Forklift experience.
- Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment (floor sweeper).
- Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components
- Attention to detail and conscientiousness
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Communicate verbally and written in English
- Clear Tx Driver’s License
- Forklift Certification and minimum 1 year experience
Working conditions
- Regular work weeks are five days, Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
- Frequently exposed to noise
- Frequently assigned changing priorities
Physical requirements
- This position requires you to be walking, standing, stooping, and bending for multiple hours of the day.
Experience
Required- Must have a clean driving record
- 1 year(s): Forklift Certification and a minimum of 1 year experience
