Job Description

The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for providing support to the payroll team. This includes timely and accurate reporting of payroll data for hourly employees. Integrity and strong attention to detail are crucial for this role.

  • Review and audit all incoming timesheets for accuracy of hours and coding.
  • Ensure accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll for hourly employees in accordance with company policies, provincial and federal regulations
  • Entering data accurately for various payroll items
  • Administer garnishments and third party demands: maintain garnishments logs, respond accurately and timely to all inquiries.
  • Maintain internal control to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of all payroll related processes.
  • Maintain a high level of service to our hourly employees by being the main point of contact for all inquiries and issues.
  • Process all new hires and terminations, ensuring electronic employee files are kept up to date and accurate.
  • Responsible for issuing all ROE’s with Service Canada in a timely manner.
  • Ensure payroll is processed in accordance with respective provincial labour standards by keeping up to date on changes in legislation.
  • Provide ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly and annual reports as requested by the Finance group.

Qualifications

  • 2 years’ experience in Payroll in asset
  • Data entry experience required.
  • Effective attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
  • Strong problem identification and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively and diplomatically, both verbally and in writing.
  • Have or be pursuing PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) Certificate an asset
