Where: London
Hours: 37.5hrs per week (fixed term contract for 18 months)
Salary: £22,357.18 - £23,525.95 dependent on experience (London Weighting applies £2,080.07 (OLW) - £3,915.44 (ILW)
Responsibilities
This exciting new pilot project will break down the barriers and bridge the gap between DWP Job Centres and Recovery Services, supporting individuals suffering from substance misuse issues to get the support they need to gain and sustain employment. Our new Peer Mentors will create safe spaces and offer support to mentees on a one-to-one basis, guiding and empowering them to achieve their goals.

About the role:
• Inspire, motivate, and support Mentees to manage their dependency, access appropriate support (including treatment, Universal Credit, and housing services) and move towards employment• Work with individuals on a 1.2.1 basis to identify what goals are important to them/ finding out what they want to achieve• Work with individuals to increase their confidence, empowering and supporting them to achieve their goals, providing emotional support when needed• Complete, review and evaluate action/impact/support/care plans with mentees• Work closely with DWP work coaches and local substance misuse services• Support mentees to attend meetings with DWP, Substance Misuse Services ands Partner agencies
About you:
• Lived experience of substance misuse and recovery• Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with good IT skills• Be able to build relationships with individuals with multiple needs, whilst remaining empathetic and non-judgemental towards Service Users• Confident in working alone as well as part of a team• Can remain calm under pressure
