SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITES

Manages and coordinates the daily work and development of the production staff including assembly, rebuild, inspection and shipping / receiving. Emphasis is placed on the management of lead-times, meeting deadlines for the completion of assembly and testing of machinery, improving capacity and throughput in the department, cost reductions and the quality of manufacture. Ensures company processes are followed and yield the desired results; timely and quality equipment. Assists with product testing for engineering and sales support.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following.

· Ability to assess production staff, define appropriate training requirements and conduct annual reviews

· Ability to develop and modify practices and processes to improve effectiveness and efficiencies

· Ability to ensure a consistent manufacturing approach and appropriate techniques

· Ability to research and define root cause of poor quality and rework; minimizing future rework

· Ability to interact with customers, engineering, sales, and service associates to discuss and evaluate machinery setup needs or changes in designs

· Ability to Supervise employees working on multiple projects

-Help them to improve their skills and to work more efficiently

-Encourage and reward their input on suggestions for the department

· Ability to estimate manufacturing and testing time required for and schedule projects to meet:

-Sales department’s needs

-Customer’s needs

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job supervises the production staff. Manager is responsible for overall direction, coordination, motivation and periodic evaluations of associates including interviewing, training, planning, assigning, directing, appraising performance, addressing concerns and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school degree or equivalent; plus a minimum of eight years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER / PC SKILLS

Associate must possess literacy in MS Word, MS Excel and MS Mail / Exchange. Associate is expected to develop appropriate knowledge of our MRP system as required to perform his/her duties.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, interpret and apply technical data, drawings and reports to the design of packaging equipment and change parts as would be expected within the packaging and design profession. Ability to effectively respond to inquiries from customers, vendors, other associates and members of the packaging, design and business community.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to apply common mathematical concepts required, including concepts such as addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical operational situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect appropriate data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

A professional certification is not required. A valid driver’s license and/or valid passport may be required.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus.
