Chapman Chevrolet is seeking an AR/AP Clerk to join our dynamic business office team! This role performs the accounting functions associated with accounts payables and receivables, ensuring timely and accurate processing of transactions and reporting. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment that values accuracy, efficiency and teamwork. Collaboration with team members, in addition to the ability to work independently when needed, are essential components of this role. The AR/AP Clerk will report to the Office Manager.

Core Responsibilities:
- Enter finalized cash receipts and update the receivable ledger
- Ensure timely, accurate billing of invoices to our customers
- Research and process bounced checks for collection
- Maintain sales tax exempt documentation
- Review, verify and post accounts payable invoices
- Document and maintain all 1099 information, including processing year-end forms and reports
- Prepare accounts payable checks and customer refund checks in a timely manner
- Issue purchase orders to vendors as necessary
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of general accounting principles and procedures (i.e. debits, credits, journal entries) is necessary
- Dealership accounting experience is preferred
- Strong computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel and the ability to navigate multiple programs simultaneously
- Analytical with a data-driven mindset and strong critical thinking skills
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and follow-up skills
- Dedication and dependability are crucial
- Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
Hours and Work Environment
