POSITION:
Behavior Health Coordinator
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in School Social Work, School Psychology, Education or related field
- Certificate or Licensure to match positions above
- Prior experience working in school setting and with behavioral health initiatives. Experience as a consultant, coordinator or with systems-level implantation preferred.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Coordinate and collaborate with administrators, teachers, support personnel, parents and community agencies on behavioral health support.
- Coordinate communication, implementation of services, grant submission, data collection and reporting requirements related to 31n funding
- Attend statewide 31n coordinator meetings and trainings
- Provide and support crisis intervention response
- Provide and support for behavioral health assessment teams
- Establish measurable student behavioral/mental health goals across the region
- Identify strategic intersections between the various resources available-state funding, grants and community partners, including the Health Department of Northwest Michigan, to support regional goals
- Support local district personnel as they implement resources and supports available
- Build capacity within school teams in order to implement evidence-based interventions targeting student behavioral health concerns to support access to the least restrictive environment
- Support school teams in the development, implementation, and review of behavior support plans and emergency intervention plans
- Coordinate communication with external stakeholders (families and behavioral/mental health partners)
- Development and maintenance of a behavioral health community resource map
- Support social-emotional learning systems integration (PK-26)
- Promote positive behavior and mental health services provided in schools
- Design and facilitate professional learning opportunities in the areas of behavioral health, social emotional learning, and trauma
- Provide training, support and coordination in one or more ISD-supported social or emotional initiatives
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
