Job Description
The Recreation Aide is a versatile role supporting various aspects of recreational activities, primarily assisting in athletic
functions as a scorekeeper, bookkeeper, and field preparation. Additionally, this position supports the Recreation Leader in
coordinating summer camps, after-school programs, and special events. The role is crucial in ensuring the smooth execution
of activities, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to enhance participant experiences. Essential Functions
Athletics Function Support:
o Assisting with athletic programs and events for various age groups and skill levels.
o Assists in field or facility preparation before and after events, ensuring equipment and spaces are set up appropriately.
Summer Camp, After-School Program, and Out-of-School Time Support:
o Aids the Recreation Leader in organizing and supervising activities while ensuring a safe and engaging environment for participants for summer camps and after-school programs.
o Support administrative tasks such as attendance tracking, organizing materials, and maintaining program
supplies.
~ Support for Special Events:
o Assists in the planning and execution of special events by helping with logistics, setup, and breakdown while ensure safety measure and providing excellent customer service.
~ General Support:
o Assists in maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of recreational facilities and equipment.
o Provides excellent customer service by addressing participant inquiries and needs.
o Collaborates with the Recreation Leader to brainstorm and implement creative ideas for program
improvement. Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
~ Basic knowledge of scorekeeping/bookkeeping techniques for sports events.
~ Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly.
~ Flexibility and adaptability to work in different recreational settings.
~ CPR and First Aid certifications (preferred). Physical Requirements

This work is physical position and requires moderate to increase physical work demands; work regularly requires speaking or hearing and using hands to finger, handle or feel, moments of sitting and frequently standing, moving, and walking; work has no special vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work has exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately and sometime noisy location.
