We are seeking an Animal Care Technician I for our Insourcing Solutions site located in Baltimore, MD.
The following are responsibilities related to the Animal Care Technician I:
Primary role, monitor daily animal health and welfare while performing daily animal health observations, animal husbandry duties to maintain quality and health of research animals, to include: perform daily water bottle /automatic water line and cage checks; provide appropriate food and water; perform cage changing and/or cage cleaning as required per SOP and/or specified protocols. Providing husbandry and technical support to the investigative staff in the production and maintenance of breeding colonies necessary for the required animal models.
Who are we looking for?
A candidate will possess the following: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Six months experience in research animal care and husbandry preferred.
In addition, achieve Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician (ALAT) certification within twelve months of eligibility to sit for the examination.
The pay for this position is $17.00 USD per hour.
