Charles Schwab Investment Management (CSIM) is the asset management arm of the Charles Schwab Corporation. CSIM delivers a wide variety of products including separately managed accounts, mutual funds, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) and money market funds within Schwab Asset Management (SAM).
SAM is seeking an experienced investment professional to serve as a Senior Portfolio Manager and team lead for our international equity ETFs and index mutual funds.
What you are good at
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of Schwab's suite of international ETFs and index mutual funds to ensure funds meet investment objectives
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of portfolio managers
- Evolve the investment process to drive scale, reduce risk, and improve investment performance across our suite of international equity ETFs and mutual funds
- Work with CSIM Technology and other business partners to evolve and enhance our investment platform
- Collaborate effectively with fellow investment leaders at SAMS, as well as colleagues in sales, marketing and product.
- Help develop collateral and thought pieces to support the brand awareness of our ETFs and equity index mutual funds
What you have
- Investment Competence and Credibility: Keen understanding of index investment process in international developed and emerging markets. Outstanding analytical skills, coupled with reasoned judgment and qualitative insights that drive excellence in investment leadership. An ability to drive a focused and systematic investment process.
- People Management and Collaboration Ability: Strength at building a team of talented investment professionals and optimizing their performance. Able to motivate, mentor, and lead by example. Able to collaborate with client-facing, sales and marketing teams on activities that further the success of the business. Fosters a culture of analytical rigor.
- Effective Communications Skills: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Commands the attention and respect of various audiences. A clear and credible presentation style. A great ambassador for the firm.
- 10 years handling index accounts preferred
- 5 years recruiting, developing, and leading team of portfolio managers preferred
- CFA designation and/or post-graduate degree with a quantitative field preferred
- Knowledge of Aladdin portfolio management system preferred
