Charles Taylor Safety Solutions is seeking a Safety Manager in Katy, Texas.

Project details:
- schedule: 40 hours per week.
- Duration: 1099 contract (3-months) position will go FT with the right candidate.
- scope of work: working with our client overseeing maintenance, installation, and trainings for a large commercial landscaper.
- certifications required for consideration: OSHA-500, certified trainer in CPR/First-Aid. Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement Safety Programs: Implement and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations, as well as company standards. Update and develop programs when needed or as assigned by the Director.
- Training and Education: Conduct regular safety training sessions for all employees including OSHA10/30 and First Aid/CPR, ensuring employees understand and adhere to safety requirements and understand expectations.
- Inspections and Audits: Perform regular site inspections and audits to build relationships and identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions. Prepare reports detailing findings and follow-up actions. Partner with field leaders to ensure implementation.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents and near-misses, conducting thorough root cause analyses to prevent recurrence. Maintain accurate records and documentation of all incidents.
- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and other applicable safety standards. Stay updated on changes in safety laws and regulations affecting the landscaping industry particularly in Texas.
- Safety Equipment Management: Oversee the regular procurement, maintenance, and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety equipment.
- Collaboration: Work closely in the field with team leaders, management and HR to promote a culture of safety and encourage employee participation in safety initiatives.
- Reporting: Prepare and present safety performance reports to the Safety Department Director, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
