Position Summary:
The SPCA Development Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing the fundraising and development efforts of the organization. This role involves creating and executing strategies to secure funding from various sources, building and maintaining relationships with donors, and overseeing fundraising events and campaigns. The Development Manager will work closely with the executive team, staff, and volunteers to ensure the organization's financial goals are met to support the SPCA's mission of animal welfare.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising plan to meet the organization's financial needs and goals.
- Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with individual donors, corporations, foundations, and other potential sources of funding.
- Conduct research and identify new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and partnerships.
- Prepare and submit compelling grant proposals and applications, ensuring compliance with grant guidelines and deadlines.
- Manage and maintain donor databases and ensure accurate and timely record-keeping and reporting.
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including donor appreciation events, galas, and community outreach activities.
- Collaborate with the executive team to create and execute effective marketing and communication strategies to promote the SPCA's mission and fundraising initiatives.
- Provide guidance and support to development staff and volunteers, including training, motivation, and performance evaluation.
- Monitor and analyze fundraising results, prepare reports, and present findings to the executive team..
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in fundraising and development, and implement innovative strategies to maximize fundraising success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, or communications.
- Proven experience in fundraising, development, or a related field, preferably within an animal welfare or nonprofit organization.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising strategies and techniques, including grant writing, donor cultivation, and event planning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in using donor management software and other relevant tools.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of self-motivation and initiative.
- Passion for animal welfare and commitment to the mission and values of the SPCA.

Pay: $52,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year
