Position Summary:
Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician, the Medical Assistant performs delegated functions as a member of the patient care team to provide a variety of multi-skilled services. These activities contribute to meeting the health care, safety and comfort needs of patients, and are performed in accordance with all existing regulatory, state and company standards, policies and procedures. (Duties of the Medical Assistant can vary at each clinical area) Reports to the assigned supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must possess effective communication skills.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred not required.
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills along with proper telephone etiquette.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively translate medical terminology as assessed by successful completion of language proficiency assessment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software and basic computer maneuverability.
- Able to efficiently function in fast paced work environment.
Requirements
Professional Experience/Educational:
- Medical Assistant Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience working in a healthcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred not required.
