Summary: Accountable for the engineering and maintenance staff functions throughout the CharterCARE facilities. Responsible for the development, implementation, and administration of a coordinated work order and inventory control system. Coordinates the efficient operation of all systems and equipment.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience: Three to five years’ proven supervisory and basic management skills in facilities maintenance. Ability to read blueprints, general knowledge, and experience with facilities management to include electricity, carpentry, plumbing, HVAC and building automation software. Familiar with construction and maintenance procedures as well as healthcare regulatory requirements.
Working Conditions, Physical Environment and/or Safety Requirements: Occasionally works with hazardous substances-references safety data sheets and complies with all recommended safety measures. Duties require a person to stand, walk, and bend for approximately 90% of his/her shift. Work on ladders and/or reaching positions for approximately 20% of his/her shift. Occasionally exposed to isolation rooms, heat, dust, water, noise, and high voltage electrical equipment-utilizes appropriate safety apparel during performance of tasks associated with these elements. Duties require the ability to lift weights of approximately 10-20 lbs. for approximately 50% of his/her task. Utilizes safety belts, lifting equipment and obtains assistance from other employees as needed in the performance of all duties which require lifting excessive weights. Occasionally some of the duties involve working on or around moving machinery, electrical systems, infectious systems, excessive heat, dust, and noise which necessitates the use of proper precautions. Maintains all safety requirements associated with the Hospitals.
