Position Summary
We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic Technician who can conduct preventive maintenance, conduct calibrations, machine repair, perform structural, grounds and facility maintenance and repairs in our manufacturing plant. This is a support role, working with maintenance technicians, troubleshooting electrical and drive repairs, PLCs, and PMs. Your role will involve the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of industrial machinery. You will work closely with engineers, machine operators, and other technicians to ensure the reliability and safety of facility machines.
- This is a 1st shift position 7am – 3pm.
- Install, assemble and test new machines and equipment
- Understand and safely use test equipment such as volt, Ohm, current meters, megohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Write, report, and organize all calibrations within the facility.
- Inspect machines regularly for signs of malfunctions, including visual inspections, listening for irregular noises and conducting scheduled testing as appropriate. Including but not limited to: forklifts, scales, hoists, ladders, office machines, calibrated equipment
- Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.
- Schedule and perform routine preventative maintenance and service for each piece of equipment.
- Understand and comply with workplace safety regulations.
- Ability to communicate openly with supervisors and other employees to assure smooth shift operation and changeover when working on equipment.
- Perform emergency repairs on various types of machinery, including mechanical, electric and hydraulic; identify and replace worn or damaged parts in a timely manner.
- Use a variety of power and hand tools to perform job functions.
· Experience and understanding of blueprint reading, plumbing, carpentry, operation of shop equipment (lathe, mill, arc welder, acetylene torch) three-phase power and electrical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, service power transmission components ·
Proficient in mathematics: addition, subtraction, multiplication & division to include calculations using fractions and metrics. ·
Familiar with Microsoft Office
Education
Degree or licensing in Maintenance Specialties such as electrical/electronics, machine fabrication, welding
Required Work Experience
3-5 years
