The role will be responsible for the following :
- Assist classroom teachers with preparation, presentation, and direction of activities and lessons; gather / set up supplies for activities and lessons;
- monitor children during classroom and playground activities; deliver / distribute snacks / meals to classrooms; put up decorations or theme presentations;
- place materials into proper learning centers; rotate toy stock -Work with individual children on specific tasks and daily functions such as feeding or assisting with feedings;
- changing diapers, assisting older children with bathroom functions including potty training; helping children settle for daily naps -Maintain a healthy and safe environment by checking children for signs of illness;
- distributing medicine according to prescription; maintaining cleanliness of children (wipe noses, wash hands); washing furniture, equipment, toys, and bedding with bleach solution;
straightening room -Promote, support, and participate in student recruitment and retention efforts -Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Position Requirements :
Education and training : High School Diploma or GED plus CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of employment date -Work Experience : One year working with young children

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
- Knowledge : Knowledge of instructional methods and materials, recreational activities, and psychological and biological needs of young children -Skills : Skills in communication needed for effective communication with young children and adults;
- interpersonal skills consistent with maintaining confidentiality and working with a variety of age groups and with establishing and maintaining effective working relationships -Abilities : Ability to respond to stressful / emergency situations in a quick and calm manner;
to perform physical requirements associated with caring for young children
