Cheddar is the leading financial and technology news live-streaming service catering to millennials and Gen Z audiences. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We seek an experienced and connected Booker to secure high-profile guests, organize exclusives, and book day-of/news guests for our live programming. 

This role will be pivotal in elevating Cheddar’s position in the business news ecosystem.  You will be responsible for knowing the needs of each individual show on the network, as well as keeping up with industry trends to contribute to new concept pitch meetings. This role will work closely with talent and our Head of Content.

EXPERIENCE

• 5 years of booking and planning experience
• Strong track record of booking high profile guests and exclusives
• Live newsroom experience
• Strong news judgment and ability to stay neutral on news topics
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are a must
• Experience managing a team and being a leader in a newsroom
• Experience in pitching new shows to talent is a plus
• Producing guest segments is a plus

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role you will personally lead booking efforts across the network. It is expected from the start that you are able to connect with a wide range of potential guests to feature on any of our live or taped shows. 

• Show Enhancement Focus: Work daily to engage with top executives in the finance, tech, and startup space to secure interviews on Cheddar around company announcements, earnings, or exclusives.
• Develop and maintain a strong network: Be proactive about outreach, including building relationships with public relations representatives, booking agencies, and industry organizations. This includes maintaining an internal comprehensive guest database.
• Conduct thorough pre-interview research: Gather relevant information about guests and their areas of expertise, and prepare detailed pre-interview notes for producers and anchors.
• Stay informed: Must always be up to date on current business/tech news and trends to identify relevant and timely interview topics.

• Charisma and the ability to develop and nurture relationships 
• Persistence with guest follow-up and relentless prioritization of team goals
• Proven track record of A guest bookings

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree required

COMPENSATION

For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in New York, Cheddar includes a reasonable estimate of the salary for this role. This accounts for the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to business or organizational needs, skill sets, experience and training, licensure, and certifications.

The salary range for this role is 80k to 90k per year.
