Chemcoaters provides a range of coating services to the regional steel & aluminum industries – namely cleaning & retreatment, specialty lubricants, and corrosion-inhibition. We focus on best-in-class yield & quality performance.

Benefits: $18/hour for 90 days, with a performance & compensation review thereafter.

Job Description:

The Technical Sales Associate will report directly to the President & rotate between other managers based on tasks assigned. He/She will assist with various tasks to support Sales, R&D, and Operations during the first year of employment – with the goal of building a strong knowledge base on steel/aluminum/coil-coatings. Successful candidates will move on to become Sales Managers for the Company.

• On-site presence required (Gary, Indiana)
• 40 hours / week – some flexibility in start & end time (6AM-4PM, Mon-Fri)
• This position will start as hourly, with a performance & compensation review at 90 days.

Duties may include – but are not limited to;

• General tasks to assist in keeping lab in functional / orderly condition
• Chemical blending in manufacturing environment (requirement to lift up to 50 lbs.)
• Maintain & clean test equipment
• Aid / prepare testing for coating development
• Prepare summaries & reports of work conducted
• Data entry & customer research
• Site tours / occasional travel (at Company expense)

Preferred Qualifications;

• Bachelor’s / Associate degree
• 1 year of Chemistry / lab/ scientific experience
• Ability to learn new tasks efficiently & accurately
• Detail-oriented & organized
• Able to adhere to Good Laboratory Practices (GLP)
• Comfortable working on their feed for periods of time in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Strong oral / written communication skills.
