C&I looking is for a talented and driven individual to join our team!
We are currently seeking a Staff Mechanical Engineer with experience designing food & beverage production facilities. The Mechanical Engineer with food & beverage experience will work closely with other disciplines to ensure the customer needs are fulfilled.
C&I is an employee-owned, full service, engineering design firm providing engineering / design / project management and procurement services to various clients in oil & gas, food & beverage, and distilled spirits.
Responsibilities include :
- Work and function as a mechanical project lead. This includes planning, coordination, scheduling, effort estimates, technical documents, and checking and reviewing work.
- Delegates work with others as needed on mechanical projects in the industry of food and beverage.
- The Staff Mechanical Engineer will Interpret, review, and develop process P&IDs and line designation tables.
- Develops engineering data sheets, specifications, bid evaluations, and construction SOW documents.
- Performs detailed analysis and comprehensive calculations related to process equipment, material handling, equipment, and other mechanical systems, (piping stress analysis is desirable).
- The Staff Mechanical Engineer reviews and comments on Vendor Submittals.
- Creates sketches and basic equipment drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.
- Function as a department resource for material handling equipment and systems.
- Travels to client or vendor locations for equipment inspection and coordinates with clients as needed.
Minimum requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or higher from a four-year ABET-accredited university.
- 10 years of experience or PE with 8 years of design experience involving equipment and preparing construction documents for food, beverage, distillation, and chemical plant clients.
- General working knowledge of fixed equipment, rotating equipment, material handling equipment, and mechanical systems.
Qualifications that set you apart :
- Prior Leadership experience
- Working knowledge of ASME, NFPA, API, HI, NEMA, Welding and other industry guidelines
- Experience with fixed equipment, mechanical systems (piping, hydraulics, pneumatics, metallurgy, and welding
- Extensive technical experience with Caesar II, Compress, Nozzle Pro, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and knowledge of developing calculation worksheets in Excel
