Position: Business Director I, UltraPure
Primary Location: Arizona, USA
Schedule: Full time - Monday to Friday – 40 hours work week.
Reports to: Business Vice-President, UltraPure
Compensation: $190,000 - $210,000 USD
The US base salary range for this position is $190,000 - $210,000 per annum bonus benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary ranges for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, benefits, pension contributions and/or additional incentives.

About this Role and About You
The Business Director for UltraPure Acid is responsible for being the liaison between the commercial and manufacturing/engineering functions in the UltraPure business, managing profitability and maximizing customer satisfaction by optimizing asset utilization across the manufacturing network. The Business Director is expected to understand the semiconductor fab market requirements and ensure that the customer needs are translated to short-term and long-range plans that are actionable for the team. The business director is also responsible for leading the product segmentation strategy, overseeing the lifecycle of the products and generating the collateral required for customer engagement. The Business Director will indirectly lead and manage a cross-functional team within a matrix organization.
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications include an undergraduate degree (in Business, Engineering, Science, or equivalent; MBA is preferred), combined with 15 years of experience in business management.
- Experience within the chemical industry or with other industrial products is preferred.
- Competency required in the following areas: leadership, team building across functional groups, results-oriented, strategic planning, entrepreneurship, comfort within a high growth / fast-changing business environment.
- Full knowledge of semiconductor or electronics market, especially in North America
Responsibilities
Profit and Loss (P&L) Accountability: Optimize profitability / free cash generation for the UltraPure Acid business by:
- Maximizing sales by effective use of the manufacturing network
- Develop product line strategy, including life cycle classification, and cost to serve optimization
- Define and manage the new product introduction process, leading the commercial product launch, including associated ERP requirements
- Working with the pricing team, develop and manage the product line price book
- Provide commercial input to handling and resolution of customer complaints
- Manage customer qualification for new products and/or from new sites
- Drive commercial input to supply chain and manufacturing strategies to ensure maximum revenue and profitability
Driving Specialty Material Culture in the UltraPure Business: Support initiatives to drive quality and reliability in the business
- Support the design and development of work processes to ensure product delivery to customers, on time, in-spec, and on budget
- Translate semiconductor customer expectations on quality, change management, and statistical process control, into work processes for the manufacturing teams
- Drive business continuity initiatives to ensure no missed key customer shipment
Annual Plan Development & Financial Reporting:
- Support the development of short and long range plans, including sales, logistics, purchasing, period and capital costs
- Develop and use key metrics to help monitor success
- Monitor key initiatives required to meet the plan
- Report on the results, variances, and status of key initiatives and key risks on a monthly basis
- Support forecasting process throughout the year, in conjunction with the sales team
Partner Relationship Management:
- Ensure appropriate relationships are developed and maintained with key external partners (customers and suppliers as appropriate), across various levels and functional groups within Chemtrade.
- Attend industry events such as conferences, tradeshows, and seminars as needed to promote Chemtrade in the semiconductor industry
Strategic Direction:
- Develop, and then be responsible for delivering on, the strategic direction of the business; and
- Develop the metrics to monitor progress, and be responsible for meeting metrics developed.
Business Growth:
- Identify, evaluate, and recommend organic growth opportunities, as well as tuck-in acquisition opportunities.
