RESIDENTIAL AIDES - This is a position at the Preston Manor Home for Adults operated by the Chenango County Department of Social Services. Employees in this class are responsible on an assigned shift for overseeing and caring for residents, transporting and/or accompanying them to appointments and off-site activities, and cleaning and maintaining resident living quarters. Work is performed under the general supervision of a Senior Residential Aide or higher level staff member in accordance with well established policies and procedures. Supervision over the work of others is not normally a responsibility of employees in this class. Does related work as required. Previous experience and certification as a CNA is not required.

The 2023 start rate is $16.75 per hour with an additional $.40 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts and includes a full benefits package. The 2024 hire rate is $17.42 per hour with an additional $.40 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shifts and includes a full benefits package.

Special Requirement: At time of appointment and continuing throughout appointment, a candidate/incumbent must possess a valid New York State Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the County’s insurance carrier.
