Government Contracts Manager

The Government Contracts Manager is an experienced professional responsible for providing day-to-day consultation and support to the program management team, operations, and leadership in the management and administration of Government services contracts within Federal and civilian agencies. The Manager ensures compliance with regulations, negotiates contracts, and maintains excellent customer relations, handling a diverse portfolio of contracts with efficiency and expertise.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Government Contracts Manager : $90,000 - $156,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Government Contracts Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • Implement processes, policies, and procedures to address challenges in contract administration.
  • Act as the primary interface between the organization and government/prime contractor's contracting officer.
  • Maintain a complex portfolio of varying contract types and values, including international subcontracts, large dollar value projects, and nonstandard contracts for multiple LLCs.
  • Ensure compliance with mandatory flow-down clauses in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and other agency supplements.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate contracts/subcontracts of varying types (FFP, T&M, IDIQ, CPFF, performance-based, etc.), teaming, consulting, and non-disclosure agreements, as well as other contract-related documents.
  • Support the contract proposal review and drafting process.
  • Lead the contract setup process at the time of contract award and coordinate review and preparation with outside legal counsel when necessary.
  • Maintain original contracts and modifications; integrate modifications into a working copy and enter contract and modification data into a contract tracking system.
  • Prepare and maintain standard form contracts for recurring business needs.
  • Assist with the issuance of request for quotes (RFQs) to subcontractors and ensure compliance with customer, contractor, and corporate obligations.
  • Identify changes and develop appropriate requests for equitable adjustments.
  • Interpret contractual, Federal Acquisition Regulation & Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR/DFAR) supplement, and/or unique procurement regulations.
  • Support customers in developing solutions consistent with business objectives and establish and maintain excellent customer relations.
  • Prepare formal contracting officer communications.
  • Prepare and monitor annual departmental budget; prepare annual employee evaluations, provide training, coaching, and development of employees, and develop annual department goals and objectives.
  • Identify process efficiencies and implement changes to ensure the organization is learning and expanding.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Government Contracts Manager Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field and 10 years of experience in commercial, government, and/or international contract administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience with FAR/DFAR, fixed price, time & material, cost plus fixed fee, and indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contracts requirements and government support services contracts required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products and the cradle-to-grave government contracting process.
  • Advanced writing, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and creativity skills.
  • Advanced negotiation and diplomacy skills critical in dealing with external contacts.
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and associated agency-specific clauses as applicable to the contracts being administered.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and self-motivation.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and prioritize assignments.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of professionalism, confidence, and integrity while directly dealing with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to accept and adapt to change.
  • Ability to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work independently and must be a U.S. person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
