The PET/CT Technologist is responsible for operating Positron Emission Tomography equipment to produce images and measure concentrations of Radioactive Isotopes in specific body areas and body products to obtain information for use by physicians in diagnosing and treating patient illnesses.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs imaging and quantitative data analysis to produce high quality nuclear diagnostic patient exams.
Provides patient care utilizing appropriate measures relative to NRC and State compliance.
Provides accurate documentation of all pertinent information.
Maintains clear, concise, and timely communication with all compliance procedures.
Performs procedures on patients in any age group from pediatric through geriatric.
Performs Q.C. and maintains records as required for NRC, State and ACR accreditations.
Learns new skills to enhance job knowledge and fulfills personal growth.
Operation of computer systems and hardware/software.
Radiation Safety and Dosimetry reports.
Patient scheduling
Dose ordering
Archiving and backup
Image manipulation and storage.
Data acquisition
Insurance processing
Participates as a team member by performing additional assignments not directly related to the job description when workload requires and is requested.
Follow department, NRC, and State regulations for radiation safety to keep exposure “ALARA”
Qualifications
Satisfactory completion of approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Meets the requirements by AART
Registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMCTB), American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) or equivalent.
Education and Experience
Minimum Required Education: Completion of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Preferred Education: N/A
Experience: 2 years preferred, but will accept new graduates who are able to achieve proficiency within six months.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Applicants must be registered with the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board. If new grad, must receive registration and be proficient within 6 months in position.
