Medical Billing Representative
The Medical Billing Representative will process and follow up on billing, review remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement and adjust, as necessary.
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Verify correct coding to ensure prompt payment.
• Input correct billing information and transmit it electronically to the carrier.
• Review denied claims and correct/appeal, as necessary.
• AR and charge posting.
• Properly draft appeal letters or complete online appeals/corrected claims.
• Hand key charges.
• Meet company deadlines.
• Attend trainings to keep abreast of changes in billing procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Must have verbal communication skills to discuss billing with providers, staff, and patients.
• Experience with NextGen and/or eClinicalWorks preferred.
• Be familiar with all aspects of a billing office.
• Attention to detail.
• Organized.
• Self-Starter/Able to work with little to no supervision.
Education and Experience:
• One year of experience in medical billing.
• High school diploma.
Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
