Job Posting for Lactation Consultant at Cheshire Medical Center

The Lactation Consultant acts as a facilitator in assisting new mothers, infants and families in matters regarding decision-making, self-care and infant care relative to breast-feeding. Responsibilities include providing appropriate education, intervention documentation and referral as indicated, promoting successful breast-feeding and initiating breast-feeding education prenatally for families making feeding choices through accurate information provided in a prenatal breast-feeding class. Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. Minimum of three years experience in Maternal Health nursing, including Parent Education experience required. Must have current New Hampshire RN license and IBCLC certification. Must obtain BLS within 3 months of hire and maintain on a biannual basis.
