Minimum Qualifications
Master's degree in psychology, social work, rehabilitation counseling, nursing, or a related field; five years of increasingly responsible experience in the provision of mental health services to include three years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of community behavioral, prevention and ID/DD programming; of principles and techniques of prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of persons with behavioral disorders; of relevant mental health laws. Ability to plan, organize and direct a comprehensive program of mental health services; to interpret and apply county, state and federal regulations, policies and guidelines related to Case Management; to analyze and interpret program data; to communicate effectively orally and in writing; to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers; to supervise staff. Experience in utilizing an EHR; preferred knowledge of the Department of Justice Settlement Agreement; WaMs; person-centered thinking and practices.
Current valid driver’s license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by applicant and presented at time of interview. Records must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required.
Duties
Service Coordination Manager is responsible for administration, management, and supervision of ID/DD Case Management/Service Coordination. Provides overall management and leadership to ID/DD Case Management/Service Coordination program. Leads planning, implementation and on-going evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of Case Management Services. This includes accountability for agency, county, state, and federal procedures and regulations governing the implementation of Case Management/Service Coordination for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Interprets and monitors local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations that affect the operation of Case Management and determines the impact of proposed legislative and regulatory change. Completes budget planning, analysis, and maintenance to assure provision of quality services. Serves as a liaison between state and federal regulators, service providers, and advocacy groups. Perform other work as required.
