Overview
Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a part-time Access Department Intern for our Bloomington/Normal location.
Chestnut Health Systems is a leading provider of behavioral and primary health care services. Over four decades, Chestnut has grown to over 700 committed, compassionate employees providing substance use, mental health, and primary care treatment to patients in Central and Southern Illinois. We provide fully integrated care for all of our patients by combining behavioral health care services with our community-based primary care health centers. Responsibilities
Assist Access Department in various administrative duties, including, but not limited to: tracking, report building and maintenance, auditing, and data entry.
Analyze data for purposes of evaluating current processes related to Access and Scheduling. Recommend changes based on data analysis.
Support Chestnut’s strategic goals and initiatives by working with Central Region programs and leadership to further progress towards goals.
Act as liaison to community partners to further Chestnut’s relationships with referral sources.
Assist in day-to-day operations of the Access department.
Participate in individual supervision and team meetings for personal and departmental development. Apply feedback appropriately.
Present a courteous, respectful, and professional demeanor to clients, visitors, and other staff during normal business operations.
Promote the recovery model of treatment including trauma-informed care, hope, empowerment, health/wellness, and spirituality/connectedness.
Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence through the adherence to Chestnut’s behavioral standards for customer service. Exercise trauma-informed communication and inclusive care.
Maintain and protect confidentiality and security of all organizational information gained in the course of performing job responsibilities including, but not limited to, financial and client information.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Enrollment in Master’s degree program in Sociology.
Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
Requires basic organizational skills and verbal (including phone) and written communication skills.
Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook) preferred.
Satisfactory completion of Chestnut's background checking process.
