What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Technician position at Chevron?
Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Automation Technician located in Mckittrick, California through July 14th, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time).
The Automation Technician is responsible for the maintenance and upgrades of all aspects in field instrumentation, automation, regulation, and control systems.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
• Troubleshooting, repairing, and performing routine maintenance on Electrical and Pneumatic, Sensors, Controllers and final Control Elements.
• Independent identification and troubleshoot of process control issues and suggesting, selecting and performing corrective recommendations to optimize automation systems.
• Apply National Electric Code and follow all Chevron 1389A safe work practices.
• Troubleshoot, repair and perform routine maintenance on Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Operator Interface Terminals (OITs) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) systems.
• Special projects/assignments related to automation issues and practices.
• Assist in automation process design and implementation.
• Interface with others to map process/workflows, identify improvements, and develop plans for implementation.
• Interface with Engineering and other Operation groups to evaluate and implement solutions.
• Participate in root cause failure analysis on incident investigations on an as-needed basis.
• Lead development of job plans and Standardize Procedures.
• Coordinate maintenance projects and shutdowns.
Required Qualifications:
Current Instrument Society of America (ISA) Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) Level 1 certification.
Must possess, or have previously held, valid California Electrical State Certification
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license
Minimum five years of automation and electrical experience in engineering, construction, or maintenance.
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
