The Energy Demand Advisor must perform and communicate market analysis in support of a diverse set of CVX Enterprise stakeholders from the Executive team to multiple Business Units. The position is on the Natural Gas Team in our Market and Price Forecasting Team within Chevron Strategy and Sustainability. The advisor role leads, supports, or performs natural gas and NGL market analysis in support of strategic planning and market forecasting activities. The advisor must be able to clearly communicate both orally and in writing market analysis The role collaborates across the enterprise to analyze, align, & communicate key messages regarding natural gas and NGL market conditions and their business implications. The advisor will demonstrate ingenuity in analytical approach, work execution & performance improvement. The role will also help to build organization capability in natural gas and NGL market principles through mentoring and outreach across enterprise.
Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
• Manage the development and maintenance of demand side analysis and modeling for markets related to natural gas, power, and value chains that serve these markets.
• Provide project management and quality control of model inputs and results that span supply, demand, costs, fiscal terms and taxes on a global basis.
• Communicate complex models into key drivers and assumptions to all level of stakeholder from analyst to executive
• Build relationships, coordinate and collaborate across stakeholders to review and generate buy in for new modeling process
• Build tools to manage the quality control of inputs and the visualization of output.
• Develop market insights and prospective from the model findings and represent those in executive communications.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Minimum 3 years of industry or experience in demand-side or economically-based modeling.
Minimum 5 years of experience in analytical roles, demonstrating strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, particularly with managing large data sets in Excelor Power BI.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Powerpoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in economics, statistics or physics desired.
Experience in energy and/or power market modeling.
Deep understanding of economic theories and supply-demand-price interaction across multiple commodities and markets.
Experience building visualizations in Spotfire and Power BI desired.
CRITICAL SELECTION CRITERIA:
Econometric, statistical or other demand side modeling experience in the energy or power market. - Demonstrated proficiency with analyzing and modeling power or other end-use energy markets
Strong analytical capability - Problem solving and critical thinking - Ability to create and manage complex models and oversee modeling process. Experience and competence with data visualization tools and processes, and ability to work with large data sets. Ability to synthesize large complex model output into conclusions, implications, market insights, and executive management communications. Ability to lead scenario development and design rational modeling case sensitivities. Understanding when results make sense or need further analysis. Ability to understand and interpret data into conclusions. Ability to manage conflicting information into a coherent story. Ability to manage assumptions and inputs within ranges of uncertainty
Teamwork - Excellent ability to work across cross-functional boundaries to build relationships and collaborate on deliverables. Strong project management capability to manage the cross-functional interfaces required for the inputs to the model. Ability to both lead projects and be an effective team member depending on the project.
Communication - Ability to synthesize large volumes of data into results and implications. Ability to create executive level presentation material. Strong interpersonal skills to manage annual cycle of price development and lookback processes.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $128,400 – $256,300.
