Our Opportunity:
Chewy is hiring an enthusiastic and analytical Category Manager, Goody Box for our headquarters in Plantation, FL. Goody Box is one of our Private Brands - we develop themed boxes of toys, treats and other goodies curated for pet parents at great savings to customers. The successful candidate will own assortment strategy, product development and go-to-market, and lead initiatives to drive sales and margin improvements. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset and be comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, have excellent verbal and written communication, strong negotiations experience, the ability to analyze consumer trends and business performance, and work well across other teams including Product Design and Sourcing, Marketing, Finance and Inventory Management. They'll have strong presentation and organizational skills. The successful candidate will be flexible, creative, analytical, and able to drive product development and vendor negotiations through to completion. What You'll Do:
- Define assortment strategy and product roadmap for the brand
- Lead end-to-end product development to create boxes our customers love, including box component sourcing, vendor negotiations, product and packaging design, box kitting, and go-to-market
- Project manage multiple new product launches, including seasonal campaigns
- Integrate economic analysis and merchandising instincts into a cohesive category strategy
- Conduct research, collect and process economic and statistical data, monitor industry and customer trends, analyze data, and develop forecasts for our online business
- Maximize product category sales by driving strong marketing promotions, negotiating with vendor partners to maximize selection, and reacting to industry-related trends
What You'll Need:
- BA/BS with minimum of 5 years in buying, account management, product management, category management, financial analysis, or MBA degree with previous relevant experience
- You have a growth mindset and are comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
- Proficient in Excel
- Must be willing to travel (minimal)
Bonus:
- You have experience working in a new business or developing and launching new products
- An accomplished range of skill from high-level strategic thinking to working with external partners
- Demonstrated excellent business judgment with strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills
- The ability to use both formal and informal influencing skills across Chewy’s cross-matrix organization is critical to success in this role.
