Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE
The Clinical Registered Dietitian is responsible for, but not limited to: nutrition screening, nutrition assessments, and
medical nutrition therapy of patients and residents. The Clinical Dietitian provides consultant services to St. Gerard’s
Nursing Home.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Completes nutritional assessments and nutrition education for inpatients and swing-bed patients.
2. Completes patient & resident education, care plans and documentation in the eMR as indicated.
3. Evaluates nutritional care and provides follow up as indicated.
4. Provide clinical and managerial consultation to St. Gerard’s on a monthly basis.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education (for CHI Leadership Job Levels from Supervisor through President)
- Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college/university as well as one calendar year of internship or equivalent.
- Must be Registered or Registry Eligible for the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Required Education for Staff Job Levels Required Minimum Experience One year of experience is preferred.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Excellent Written and Verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Good time management skills
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to maintain a positive attitude with others to ensure positive outcomes
