Responsibilities
The Environmental Services Tech I is responsible for completing their assignments as directed by their supervisor in accordance with established time-factors and following standard cleaning procedures to maintain the hospital environment and optimal cleanliness.
- Greats patients, families guests, co-workers and customers quickly and professionally
- Maintains confidentiality of information related to patients, employees and/or hospital operations at all time
- Recognizes concerns of guests and attempts to solve or get assistance
- Disposes of trash, selecting appropriate method according to established policies and procedures
- Maintains assigned areas by daily cleaning of furniture and fixtures according to established policies and procedures
- Uses supplies properly
- Maintains floors by daily dust mopping, mopping and vacuuming
- High dusts ledges over 6 ½ feet, ceiling vents and fixtures weekly
- Cleans baseboards, corners and edges weekly
- Checks dispensers daily and refills as necessary
- Maintains equipment in a clean manner
- Returns equipment to proper location after each use and/or end of shift
- Maintains supplies on patient units daily
- Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Buffers, carpet extractors, vacuums.
- Automatic scrubbers and burnishers
- Experience in a hospital housekeeping setting preferred
