The Staffing Coordinator creates a safe, cost effective work schedule for nursing staff. Serves as the time and attendance manager. Assists with collecting and maintaining accurate Quality data and other department office functions.
ESSENTIAL KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Produce the Acute Care work schedule ensuring there is adequate staff to cover each area during each shift utilizing staff efficiently and effectively, and coordinating staff to meet the expected work-load to include scheduling work shifts, vacation, holidays and training, etc.
2. Review, edit, verify and signing off in Kronos each pay period to ensure accuracy.
3. Remains up to date on pay practice policies ensuring staff is paid correctly.
4. Daily staffing review with nursing leadership/charge nurse. Assisting with calling replacement staff as needed.
5. Unit communication at key times including answering phones, manning the nurses station, communicating with visitors.
6. Preparation of various monthly/quarterly reports.
7. Clerical duties for nursing as assigned including the typing of policies, procedures and meeting minutes, and maintaining updated calling tree and staff contacts.
8. Productivity statistics gathering based on data obtained from Kronos and assignment sheets.
9. Actively attend and participate in multiple committee meetings as assigned.
10. Providing essential staffing data such as unplanned absences, tardies, clocking failures etc., to evaluators and tracking completion to ensure that performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
11. Assist with orientation to Kronos and expectations for new staff.
12. Data collection related to Quality, such as LOM and departmental measures, and others as assigned and report findings to appropriate department heads.
13. Ordering non-medical supplies either by Staples or through Materials Management and Lawson.
14. Actively participate and regularly attend committee meetings such as VIA, Product Value, Safety First.
