Laundry Tech Lead work involves the preparation of linen items that are distributed to the off campus facilities, performs related activities in processing clean linen. Works under the general supervision of the Laundry Director with considerable latitude for the exercise of initiative and independent judgement within the guidelines of St. Joseph Regional Health Center established policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work involves supervision of subordinate staff, assigns jobs tasks to laundry team members.
- May function as a Team Leader and responsible for the distribution of linen to assure that all daily tasks are completed in order to meet the daily linen demands of all our patients.
- Sets a good example as a Team Leader, for employees to follow, supports the overall mission and goals of St. Joseph Health System.
- Participates in laundry operation, loads/unloads washer/dryers, folds, etc.
- Reports significant job related issues to the Director of Laundry Services.
- Reports safety hazards to proper personnel immediately to assure care of the environment.
- Works well with employees from other departments to assure that every customer receives the best service.
- Practices good housekeeping; keep floors clean, dust shelves, empties trash cans prior to end of shift or as needed, cleans lint traps on dryers as required.
- Inspects equipment periodically for proper operation.
- Records linen items that are distributed to the off site facilities.
- Helps with the training of newly hired team members.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization’s needs.
