What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electric Pallet Jack (EPJ) Operator position at Chicago Meat Authority Inc?
CMA is seeking Material Handlers (Electric Pallet Jack Operators) for our meat processing facility. Individuals must be willing to work in a cold environment.
What You Get To Do
- Use EPJ to move pallets to various locations. Locations include freezer room, cooler room, dry storage room, production room and docks.
- Make sure that all partial boxes and combos are brought back to the production line to finish filling.
- Make sure the production lines do not run out of meat.
- Read the fresh meat and schedule report to identify correct product (FIFO).
- Use RF scanner to scan product (in and out locations).
- Fill out verification documents for labels.
- Reconcile written paperwork to ensure accuracy and balance.
- Maintain area organized and clear of path ways.
- Complete inventory as scheduled.
- Re-palletize as needed.
- Identify broken pallets/boxes and report to supervisor.
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
- Required one year of recent EPJ experience.
- Required to work overtime (including some Saturdays).
- Required to wear all personal protective equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and push up to 80 pounds depending on specific function being performed.
- Ability to crouch and bend.
- Ability to work with cold materials in a cold, humid environment.
- Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Follow CMA policies and procedures.
- Follow all safety regulations and support others in working safely.
- Perform all duties as required by supervisor.
