FT Nanny Needed For Preschooler in Buffalo Grove – JC 1517

Job Description:

Patient, enthusiastic nanny is needed for a preschooler in Buffalo Grove, to begin immediately. Child has special needs. Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm. There is an older child in the home, full-day care is not required.

Compensation: $800-$920/week + paid vacation, holidays, PTO/sick days

Job Details & Responsibilities:

  • One preschooler with special needs.
  • Child has an older sibling. Nanny will supervise both children if they are playing together.
  • Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Monday through Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm.
  • Responsibilities include all care of the child: preparing healthy snacks and meals; helping to feed, reading and singing to the child, naps/quiet time, diaper changes, picking up and dropping off from school, attending therapy sessions, light housekeeping related.
  • Actively engaging the child in fun, yet developmental, activities, both inside and out of doors. Can include puzzles, reading books, painting, etc.
  • Weather permitting, taking the child outside for walks, etc.
  • At the end of the day, picking up child's room, play areas and common areas of the house.
  • Both parents are working from home in secluded offices.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Nanny should have verifiable experience working with children of all ages. Ideally, experience with special needs children and/or a background in nursing, child psychology, early childhood education is a plus.
  • Prompt; reliable; loyal.
  • Patient and respectful.
  • Communicates well and receptive to feedback. Willing to learn.
  • Enthusiastic, fun, high energy.
  • Nanny should have a safe driving record. A car is provided for use on the job. Parking is available for the nanny's car.
  • Observes COVID protocols, and willingness to get the vaccine when available.
  • Must be willing to get the annual flu shot.
  • Organized. Able to multitask and take the initiative.
