Job Posting for Assistant Store Manager at Chief Supermarkets
Seeking applicants for various Chief Supermarket locations in Northwest Ohio region.
We are seeking an experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist the Store Manager in management responsibilities and to share responsibility for the store's operation and performance. Coordinate and direct the overall operations of the store in the absence of the Store Manager.
Responsibilities:
Observe, support, and enforce all store rules and Company policies.
Maintain a neat, well-groomed personal appearance at all times and observe Company dress regulations.
Greet all customers and provide them with prompt, courteous, and exceptional service
Work all hours as scheduled/required by management.
Actively support the Store Manager in the fulfillment of their responsibilities in planning, organizing, directing, and controlling store activities and procedures.
Ability to perform all functions of the Store Manager's position
Assist in employee scheduling and controlling labor costs to ensure that they are within budget relative to projected sales and operating results
Assist in maintaining a fire and safety program within the store by Company policies
Assist in employee training programs as needed. Assist in controlling inventory levels to minimize over-stocks and under-stocks, to maximize sales, inventory turns, and return on investment within the established Company guidelines.
Assist in maintaining the building and equipment in maximum operational condition.
Assist in the implementation of a housekeeping program that ensures a clean, safe store by following all Company and legal requirements.
Maintain effective security standards and procedures for all areas within the store.
Contribute to the profitable operation of the store
Supervise all Perishable departments, and perform work as necessary to maintain proper store conditions, including merchandising, product ordering, receiving, display, and sanitation.
Perform merchandising requirements, with a strong focus on grocery, dairy, frozen foods, and non-food departments.
Perform all tasks related to stocking, ordering, pricing, signing, and sales throughout the store.
Run register system as needed to maintain customer service.
Supervise and direct all employees in all areas of the store.
Complete and pass all aspects and courses designated for Manager-In-Training
Competencies:
Able to speak, hear, read, and write using the English language.
Must be proficient in all mathematical requirements necessary to operate a successful grocery retail operation.
Frequently lift moderate amounts of weight.
Computer skills required
Desire and ability to become a Store Manager
Good communication and organizational skills.
Ability to be to work flexible hours and schedule.
Maintain a professional appearance.
Maintain valid, current driver’s license
