About the Role:  

Chief is seeking an experienced Sales leader to create and lead the “Membership” (i.e., Sales) function for a new vertical currently in incubation. The leader will help conceptualize and lead our go-to-market strategy and launch for the new vertical. You will be responsible for the total B2C revenue goals for the new vertical, and this is a quota-carrying role. Key activities include: laying the go-to-market foundation, defining the sales strategy and cadence, acting as an AE where appropriate to test our strategy, setting goals and quotas, and leading a team of BDRs and AEs. The role is a founding member of the New Verticals team. It will report to the GM, New Verticals and partner with Chief’s CRO and VP of Enterprise.

What you’ll do: 

  • Own the new business revenue line for the new vertical and deliver against monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals
  • Conceptualize and help define the go-to-market strategy for the New Vertical
  • Set the B2C sales strategy and process, including stages, formats, and cadence
  • Set processes for generating and managing a large pipeline of leads, including leads from multiple sources 
  • Deeply understand the needs of our potential customers and buyers
  • Create collateral to win the hearts of potential new customers (i.e., pitch decks)
  • Partner with RevOps and Product to adapt Chief’s B2C sales infrastructure for the new vertical
  • Partner with Finance to align on overall ARR and revenue goals and set quotas for the team
  • Collaborate with the existing Chief Membership team on best practices, learnings, and opportunities to drive efficiencies and improvements
  • Lead first sales processes and interactions at launch, testing and iterating against strategy
  • Hire, onboard, train, and manage team members, including BDRs and AEs to successfully achieve overall revenue goals
  • Share learnings and adapt approach to continuously drive increases in key metrics (i.e,.conversion rates)

What you’ve done and enjoy doing:

  • You’ve been a high performing AE and/or sales team manager have consistently and predictably hit quotas quarter-over-quarter
  • You’ve hired, managed, and led a team of BDRs/AEs and have successfully set team quotas and helped everyone achieve their goals 
  • You’re goal-oriented and excited about rolling up your sleeves and building a best-in-class sales function based on your past experience
  • You’re collaborative and open to adapting what’s working for the business today for a new audience and product 
  • You have a high EQ and excitement for understanding the needs and motivations of our customers 
  • Experience working in a fast-paced/startup environment a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
