Purpose
The Global Project Leader leads the Core Project Team, is responsible for creating the vision, the strategy, the Integrated Project Plan and the way of working for projects in Pipeline. He/She establishes the values of the team, ensuring that the team drives the project according to the Integrated Project Plan. He/She is responsible for communication and strategic decision making with internal governance bodies.
Main Responsibilities
Master degree in relevant scientific subject (Pharmacology, Biology, Biotechnology and Medicine are preferred). MD, PhD in a scientific discipline and/or MBA would be considered an advantage

Main Responsibilities
- Authority:
- Between Stage-Gates, authorise project activities within agreed budget, time and quality parameters
- Strategy:
- Lead the Core Project Team in order that the project objectives are delivered within scope, including agreed time, budget & appropriate quality constraints
- Key project documents:
- Ensure TCP, TPP, Integrated Project Plan (PDP and Gantt), Project Card and Risk Log are updated at each Stage-Gate and where there is a significant change in project scope, timelines, budget or quality
- Teamwork/ Leadership of core team:
- Lead & develop the Core Project Team to provide an environment of collective responsibility, courage, trust and creativity
- Coach Extended Team Leaders to help foster the ability and desire of Extended Functional Teams to act in an empowered way
- Support the team in key project activities, including meetings with Regulatory authorities and with investigators and clinical/scientific experts
- Risk Management:
- Ensure risk (threats and opportunities) management and mitigation plans are available in a timely manner and are updated at regular intervals, no less than once per annum and at each Stage-Gate
- Communication:
- Be accountable and ensure the development of an integrated and updated project communication plan aligning scientific, IP, commercial and reputational considerations for both internal and external audiences
- Report on the project and data in Scientific conferences
- Represent the Core Project Team at governance bodies and other meetings when significant decisions relating to the scope (time, budget, quality parameters) of the project are required
- Ensure senior management and the governance bodies are kept informed of any changes to the scope of the project as related to time, budget and quality
- Stakeholders management
- Ensure a proper internal and external stakeholder management process
- At least 10 years’ experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry, preferably in Research and Development, including significant project and/or people management responsibility
- A strong degree of scientific, regulatory and business knowledge.
- Evidence of a deep understanding of gate-phase drug development, preferably in the rare disease area
- Evidence of strategic thinking
- Understanding of working in a matrix organization and project management and planning tools
- Clear evidence of leadership skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, facilitation & presentation skills
