What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Grants Specialist position at Child Care Aware of Kansas?
The Lead Specialist provides program leadership, with guidance from the Program Manager, by coordinating day-to-day operations/workflow and providing mentoring opportunities within the Grants Program. The Lead Specialist will provide a variety of tasks to support the Grants Program such as participating in the planning of grant implementation, approval of grants, co-leading regular team meetings, ensuring tasks are distributed timely and efficiently, as well as assisting Program Manager in data collection for the Child Care Aware of Kansas team and/or funders. The Lead Specialist will coordinate communication between the organization and grant seekers and maintain a strong knowledge of the CCAKS database (WorkLife Systems).

Location: Remote opportunity. Selected candidates must reside in Kansas.
Position is full-time. Office hours will be determined by project/participant needs but will most generally be between 8am-5pm, Monday through Friday. There will be times when it is necessary to work outside regular office hours, weekend days, or maybe longer than 8-hour days. Occasional travel is required. A vehicle for travel related duties is available or mileage reimbursement will be provided. The successful candidate must have a valid Kansas driver’s license.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or a related field OR Associate degree in Business, Communications, or a related field with 1 year working experience.
Child Care Aware of Kansas is a non-profit organization that serves as administrator to the statewide child care resource and referral (CCR&R) network in Kansas. We focus on all 105 counties by:
- ensuring that families have access to affordable, high-quality child care across the state - through child care referrals and consumer education;
