Child & Family Services is looking for a full-time Medical Billing Coordinator & Analyst for our Acushnet Avenue Administrative office in New Bedford. The Medical Billing Coordinator & Analyst is a member of the billing staff of Child & Family Services. The person holding this position will report to both the Billing Manager and Finance Manager.

Qualifications:
- Possess strong computer skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (please include a cover letter or narrative describing your Excel skills)
- Minimum of a High School Diploma (additional education a plus!)
- Three years prior experience with medical billing
- Have solid mathematical and logical analysis skills
- Experience with EVOLV or another electronic health records system
- Understanding of medical billing and ICD 10 coding
- Be self-motivated and comfortable working independently
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
Responsibilities:
The following responsibilities are not meant to be all inclusive and may be adjusted to meet the agency’s needs.
- Prepare analyses and reports in Excel of information from the billing and accounting systems
- Verify health insurance eligibility
- Prepare and submit billing to assigned payors/insurance companies
- Prepare deposits; distribute/post payments for assigned payors/insurance companies
- Follow up on billing questions for clients as well as clinical staff
- Follow up on outstanding balances with assigned payors/insurance companies
- Maintain payment status and billing records
- Track and resolve billing discrepancies
- Prepare client billing statements, review for accuracy and ensure that they are sent in a timely manner
- Prepare reports and perform analysis of billing documents
- Participates in independent education and training opportunities
- Additional duties as required
