What are the responsibilities and job description for the Case Aide position at Child & Family Servies?
Position Summary:
The Case Aide’s primary role is to support the casework staff in meeting the needs of the children and families we serve. The position requires flexibility, self-management, organization and the ability to work as part of a team.
Major Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Provides transportation for children to and from family visits and other appointments as needed
- Assists with supervision of visits between birth parents and children; coaches parents and models appropriate skills in meeting children’s needs during the visit
- Assists independent living coordinator in planning and acts as co-facilitator with monthly Independent Living group
- Provides child care during resource family trainings and support groups
- Prepares progress notes and maintain case record documentation in Connections and case file
- Participates in child/family Service Plan Reviews
- Provides respite/mentoring services to children in need of skill building and/or character building services
- Works as a team member with supervisory, social work, clerical staff and foster parents
- Communicates verbally and in writing with staff, community social service, and health education professionals
- Assists in coordinating services for children and families as needed
- Models and practices sensitivity, fair treatment and acceptance of diversity in all interpersonal interactions
- Shows willingness to learn about and implement skills related to diversity
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures.
- Participates and contributes to program Quality Improvement process
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s in Social Work or other related degree in a human services field with one year of experience working with children and families
- Valid New York State driver’s license and a good driving record
Hours: Monday through Friday, evenings may be required to meet the needs of the family.
