The Pre-K Lead Teacher will play an integral role in the success of our center by serving as a positive role model as well as creating meaningful relationships and being a supportive resource for our students, families and their team.
- Manage classroom activities while ensuring compliance with NC Division of Child
- Development and Early Education and the goals and objectives of the current NC Pre-K curriculum including progress toward School Readiness Goals
- Build and maintain a positive, nurturing, and supportive relationship with the children and families
- Plan and implement learning experiences that address physical health and development, social and emotional development, approaches to learning, logic and reasoning skills, language, literacy, mathematics knowledge and skills, science knowledge and skills, creative arts expression, and social studies knowledge and skills
- Conduct ongoing assessment of the growth and development of assigned children to inform instruction and measure progress toward School Readiness Goals; plan individualized curriculum to meet specific needs of children including children with disabilities
- Follow health and safety procedures for hand washing, toileting, handling bodily fluids, sanitizing toys and equipment, administering medication, serving food, dealing with children's illnesses, and supervising children

- Minimum of one-year experience in a classroom environment working with preschool children
- Must be working toward a North Carolina (NC) Birth through Kindergarten (B-K) or Preschool Add-on Standard Professional II licensure. Teachers working toward the required education and licensure shall hold a minimum of a BA/BS degree and one of the following requirements:
- NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry BK License, or
- A North Carolina K-6 license and a provisional Preschool Add-on license, or
- Another North Carolina or other state’s license and an NC Provisional B-K license, or
- A BA/BS degree in early childhood education, child development, or a related field, and be eligible for a NC Initial Provisional Lateral Entry B-K License
